PowerNetizen.com – The grand plan of the Minister of Human Rights, Natalius Pigai, to establish a Human Rights University has received enthusiastic support from academic circles. This initiative is considered highly relevant to Indonesia’s diverse character as a nation with multiple ethnicities, religions, races, and social groups.
“The idea proposed by Minister Natalius Pigai to establish a Human Rights University in Indonesia is very timely and appropriate,” said academician Maksimus Ramses Lalongkoe in Jakarta on Friday, November 14, 2024.
Ramses highlighted that various human rights violations in Indonesia might stem from a lack of public understanding regarding the principles of human rights. For this reason, he views the establishment of a Human Rights University as a strategic solution to address this issue.
“With the presence of a Human Rights University, many citizens will be equipped with knowledge and values related to human rights. This will produce future leaders who truly embody and uphold these principles,” Ramses stated.
He further emphasized that this plan requires broad support from the public, including legislative bodies, to help realize Indonesia’s vision of becoming a civilized and humane nation.
